We have another new member from 2009 to welcome into our group - Flora. She is also able to trace her line back to Charles Williams. I'll post her line on this blog today. Welcome Flora!!
Please try DNA testing!! It is the best way to help solve your brickwalls and link with other cousins who are researching the same Williams line. Our group has used Family Tree DNA which has a very large Williams database (probably the largest one anywhere).

Williams who was the oldest son of William Williams (born 1760 at Ft. Pitt, PA) and descendants of Isaac Benjamin Williams - Purviance Williams and John W. Williams of Texas.
From Jeaneane Williams' research and the research of many cousins, we have grown to add the descendants of Charles Williams and his son, William Williams of Charles City County, Virginia. This family was large and travelled to Brunswick County, Virginia, Rutherford County, NC and on to Carroll County, Georgia. Because this family can be traced back into the 1600s, many of us feel that Charles Williams and family may be our "core" group and are trying to find evidence that may link our own lines back to his family.
Using DNA as a genealogical tool is one of the most exciting and rewarding ways to assist in finding your family connections. It may not solve all those missing links or answer every question, but DNA will connect you to cousins who are also searching for that common ancestor .
